Welcome to the Summit Lacrosse Club

The Summit Lacrosse Club (est. 1972) is dedicated to promoting the great game of Lacrosse for the boys and girls of Summit in grades 1-8.  Our coaches, parents and players are encouraged to have fun while developing the player's character, skill and love for the game.

We strive to maintain a club program where every participant, regardless of initial skill level, has the opportunity to learn the game, develop individual and teamwork skills, and prepare for the high school level of Lacrosse.  We strive for equal playing time in grade 3-6 as we feel that the love of the game and the desire to be better is achieved on the field of play.

We value good sportsmanship (both on and off the field) and encourage our players to reach their full potential.  We hope our youth can develop into great Lacrosse players and leave our club with fond memories of a program that was the foundation and the inspiration of their continued future playing Lacrosse.

Our season is in the spring from March to June; signups are in the late fall.  We offer a 6 week clinic for boys and girls in First Grade, lacrosse instruction for boys and girls in grades 2 - 4, and teams with games played against other town teams for boys and girls in grades 5 - 8.

Please check below for registration and start dates.

Summit Lacrosse Club President's Welcome

Hello everyone! My name is Elizabeth Fagan and I assumed the role of President of the Summit Lacrosse Club in 2017. I have been involved with the SLC since 2005, when I began coaching. Through the years, I have had the opportunity to coach all grade levels on the girls side and first grade on the boys side.

The Summit Lacrosse Club will open registration for the upcoming 2018 spring season October 1st of 2017.  We open registration in the fall to give us as much time as possible to prepare for the ever growing number of Summit boys and girls playing the terrific game of lacrosse.  We need to understand how many boys and girls we will have for each grade so we can determine the number of teams, coaches, games, etc.   Information will be posted on our web site (www.summitlacrosseclub.com) Open registration is early October 1 , 2017 tthrough November 30, 2017.  Starting December 1, there will be additional fees for grades 2-8 and some grades could even be full.  Please register as soon as possible once registration is opened. All information, as well as the fee schedule for each grade, is posted on our SLC website Home Page.

Once again the registration will be completed entirely on our web site. All forms and releases will be executed on line.

As in previous years we will offer separate programs for first grade through the eighth grade for both boys and girls.  The 1st grade clinic registration will remain open into the winter since they are new to the club (the first grade boys will not require full lacrosse equipment).  The 2nd to 4th grade programs are primarily focused on the introduction to the game with a strong ‘fundamentals’ focus and an increasing amount of scrimmage experience each year.  The 5th to 8th grades continue to focus on building the fundamentals of lacrosse but also increase the number of both in-town and travel games.

Additional details, including the goals and expectations for each team, will be provided prior to the start of the season from both boys and girls coaches for each grade.

However, the basic program offering will be the same structure as last year.

The SLC girls program will again be organized in single grades from 1st through 8th grades.  The program and games will be essentially the same as the last couple of years.  For 7th and 8th grades, there will be a try-out based Select team and 1 or 2 evenly divided travel teams, depending on number of players.  Teams for 6th grade and below are divided evenly based on skill.

The boys program will also be structured the same as last year. For 6th, 7th and 8th grade we will have A and B (or, if numbers require, 1 A and 2 B) teams that are determined by skill.  Teams for 5th grade and below are divided evenly in terms of skill. All teams will have a similar game schedule as last year with the focus on scheduling games against opponents with appropriate level competition.

We are excited about the upcoming season this spring so please help us prepare by completing the registration as soon as possible.   If anyone has any questions or comments, please send an email to admin@summitlacrosseclub.com or to me.

Thank you and see you in the spring!
